Corporate Social
Responsibility
We value the safety, health and well-being of the communities we work with. Our policies, operations and work plans are configured to ensure sustainability, effectiveness, safety and secure livelihoods.
Our Approach
Our multi-generational vision is to improve the livelihoods of Zimbabweans in a sustainable way, one that outlasts us. We are committed to supporting the communities in our operational areas, protecting them from harmful practices, and investing in their long-term prosperity.
Four pillars carry that commitment forward
Four Strategic
Pillars
Each pillar is a discipline, a policy framework, and a promise to the people who live where we operate.
Health
Improve the health and well-being of our employees and the communities in our operational areas.
Safety
Become the industry leader on Zero Harm and Zero Fatalities across every operation we run.
Environment
Foster a sustainable environment for future generations, through rehabilitation and reforestation.
Education & Empowerment
Foster opportunities for education, professional development, and local business inclusion.

Health
We work to improve the health and well-being of our employees and the communities in our operational areas, and to safeguard the health priorities of Zimbabweans. Across our clusters Gold, Energy, PGMs and Bulk Commodities, we provide primary healthcare services to more than a million people.
In partnership with local and national healthcare providers, MGR and its entities have consistently donated in cash and kind to rehabilitate and improve health infrastructure. Our annual Wellness Beyond Generations programme puts a spotlight on the health burdens our society faces most.
Safety
We work to be an industry leader on Zero Harm and Zero Fatalities. Zero Harm is upheld as a core value of MGR and its entities, backed by a robust policy framework that is closely enforced and recognised by multiple awards.

Environment
We foster a sustainable environment for future generations by promoting safe environments in the communities we work in, rehabilitating our operational areas, and upholding the ideals of environmental protection for staff and stakeholders.
MGR entities have rehabilitated over 50km of road works in our operational areas and run a continuous tree-planting programme.
Education &
Empowerment
We expand opportunities for education and professional development for individuals and local businesses. Our business inclusion policy actively promotes local participation across every operational area.
Annually, MGR and its entities provide work experience for over 100 students across a range of disciplines, and cover university fees and upkeep for five students from disadvantaged backgrounds at the University of Zimbabwe.
