{"id":420,"date":"2026-09-11T08:22:00","date_gmt":"2026-09-11T08:22:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/139.84.241.235\/zra\/?post_type=zra_press_release&#038;p=420"},"modified":"2026-09-16T13:24:24","modified_gmt":"2026-09-16T13:24:24","slug":"update-on-water-levels-at-kariba-2","status":"publish","type":"zra_press_release","link":"http:\/\/139.84.241.235\/zra\/press-releases\/update-on-water-levels-at-kariba-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Update On Water Levels At Kariba"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Projected Rainfall Activity Under the 2020\/2021 Rainfall Season<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Twenty-Fourth Annual Southern Africa Regional Climate Outlook Forum (SARCOF-24) was held virtually from 27th to 28th August 2020 with a view to presenting a consensus outlook for the 2020\/2021 rainfall season over the SADC region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SARCOF is a forum of local, regional and international weather experts who meet annually to provide projections of the ensuing rainfall season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The SARCOF-24 Official Statement indicated that the bulk of the SADC region was likely to receive normal to above-normal rainfall for most of the period between October and December (OND) 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Normal to below-normal rainfall was expected in North-Western Angola, the bulk of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, most of Eastern Madagascar, Northern Malawi, Northern Mozambique, Seychelles, the United Republic of Tanzania and North-Eastern Zambia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The January to March (JFM) 2021 period was projected to record normal to above-normal rainfall across the entire SADC region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Similarly, the Climate Prediction Center (CPC) of the USA indicated a slight to moderate tilt towards above-average rainfall over portions of Southern Africa during the period from December 2020 through to March 2021.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Zambezi River Authority hereby wishes to provide an update to the public regarding the water levels at the Kariba Dam<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"menu_order":40,"template":"","zra_press_release_category":[11],"class_list":["post-420","zra_press_release","type-zra_press_release","status-publish","hentry","zra_press_release_category-press-releases"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/139.84.241.235\/zra\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/zra_press_release\/420","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/139.84.241.235\/zra\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/zra_press_release"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/139.84.241.235\/zra\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/zra_press_release"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/139.84.241.235\/zra\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=420"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"zra_press_release_category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/139.84.241.235\/zra\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/zra_press_release_category?post=420"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
