AGRICOLLEGES CERTIFICATE SUMMARY
This program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of various types of agriculture, equipping them with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Successfully completing the course will prepare students for entry-level positions in the agriculture sector or further studies in an agriculture-related field, offering a solid foundation for future career development. The National Certificate in General Agriculture, Plant, and Animal Production is particularly suited for school leavers eager to pursue further education in agriculture.
CURRICULUM
Fundamentals of Animal Production covers animal classification, nutrition, anatomy, and physiology and includes food safety, quality management, and equipment maintenance. Principles of Animal Production involve agribusiness planning, adjusting agricultural factors, managing damage control, ensuring product quality, and implementing health programs. Mathematics deals with statistics, probability, measurement, and geometry. Communication Skills focus on effective oral and written communication, text interpretation, and data collection. Marketing Management entails developing and managing agricultural marketing strategies. Agricultural Operations include managing feedlot production, adjusting agricultural factors, and damage control.

Watershed College comprises three farms spanning 150 hectares of active commercial and practical learning land.
Commercial production concentrated mainly on tobacco. The college farm operates 5 modro units and 8 conventional barns, using coal for modros and gum firewood for conventional curing.
An afforestation program meeting international carbon principles for tobacco curing. Features 4 plantations over 30Ha, producing 450,000 seedlings annually for the Sustainable Agriculture Association (SAA).
Planting 60 hectares of maize across key demo plots (Dupont Pioneer, SeedCo, Mukushi). 30 hectares are converted to silage to support our dairy herd.
Grows a wide variety of fresh produce: lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, spinach, rape, peas, carrots, fine beans, onions, tomatoes, peppers, butternut, squash, watermelon, and potatoes.
Includes a Tuli beef herd of 60 cattle supplying the college dining room, along with 154 dairy cows at the ADC (milking, maternity, heifers, and grower stock).
Active piggery with 72 pigs (sows, boars, and piglets) alongside a robust poultry unit managing 6,000 broilers and 400 layers producing ~390 eggs daily.
