Zambia: SC 561 is an early-maturing white maize variety with a maturity period of approximately 124-131 days. It produces white, semi-flint grain and has a yield potential of 10-11 tonnes per hectare, equivalent to approximately 200-220 × 50 kg bags. The variety has tolerance to Grey Leaf Spot and Northern Corn Leaf Spot and is particularly notable for its excellent cob-rot tolerance. It also has very good drought tolerance and very good standability. SC 561 can be used for summer grain, cattle stover, winter green maize and winter silage.
