Zambia: SC 637 is a medium-maturing white maize variety with a maturity period of approximately 130-136 days. It produces white, semi-dent grain and has a yield potential of 11-13 tonnes per hectare, equivalent to approximately 220-260 × 50 kg bags. It has tolerance to Grey Leaf Spot, Northern Corn Leaf Spot and Maize Streak Virus and moderate tolerance to Diplodia and Fusarium. Its drought tolerance is rated moderate, while its standability is very good. SC 637 is suitable for summer grain, cattle stover and silage.
