Zambia: SC 403 is a very-early-maturing white maize variety with a maturity period of approximately 121-125 days. It produces white, dent grain and has a yield potential of 6-8 tonnes per hectare, equivalent to approximately 120-150 × 50 kg bags. It has tolerance to Grey Leaf Spot, Northern Corn Leaf Spot and Maize Streak Virus, together with moderate tolerance to Diplodia and Fusarium. SC 403 has very good drought tolerance, good standability and is recommended for summer grain production.
